Originally from the Chicago area, Rebecca J. Froman Freiman, MA, MT-BC, is a board certified music therapist serving adults with various types of dementia and other needs and strengths through Greater Chicago Music Therapy Inc., her private practice. Rebecca's undergraduate studies in music performance (oboe) and psychology were completed at the University of Michigan and she earned her Masters degree at University of Iowa in music therapy. A clinician since 2005, Rebecca has worked as a staff member in long term and sub-acute care, established and implemented a music therapy program for a local hospice, and has facilitated music therapy individual and group 

sessions for a variety of clientele in many different settings through her private practice. 

Rebecca has presented at numerous national and regional conferences as well as for local medical and care providing organizations about music therapy with older adults, dementia, collaboration across disciplines, as well as multicultural awareness and competency in practice.  

She has supervised and mentored several students in the fields of music therapy, dance/movement therapy, and art therapy, and has published research in the hospital setting and about 

multicultural music therapy practice.  Currently, Rebecca and her team travels to people's homes and other community settings throughout the greater Chicago area providing individual and group 

music therapy sessions, as well as consultation, training, and education about music therapy.
