The music and singing were great. Thank you for all your time and efforts. It really brightened our day.
We love how she engages all of our residents with different abilities. All of our residents who participate are able to be successful no matter the challenges they have.

The therapist does an amazing job engaging the participants. Not only does music therapy help with stress, but also physical exercise, dancing, relaxing, and it also gives our individuals a chance to express their feelings.

[The music therapist] had a great way of building rapport with my 92 year old client and tailoring the sessions to best suit her. Music therapy provided good stimulation and human interaction. I highly recommend Greater Chicago Music Therapy's services!

The music therapist makes lyrics more meaningful and reflective of our mom’s interests which is a wonderful way to build rapport. We see our mom make connections to [the music therapist] the music, or even our conversation that the music often triggers. The music therapist built a positive rapport with mom...that makes everything so easy going for mom.
We have witnessed the effects of music therapy as we see that mom is initially not engaged but then starts making connections. She demonstrates this by her gradual participation, responding when prompted, or her facial expressions. A beautiful thing to see!

I love that each session has a different theme and what a great variety of activities planned to explore the theme. The sessions promote connection, communication, reminiscing, and joy!

I highly recommend music therapy to provide a sense of joy and accomplishment to dementia patients. Singing provided a pathway for verbal expression where there was none due to illness.

We get to see clients who don't usually respond or participate in everday activities come alive with a light in their eyes....The staff also sees a side to t he clients they may not have seen before. It's a completely positive experience for clients and staff.
The therapist's gentle manner and positive engagement encourages even our most introverted participants to lift up their heads and take interest...staff has called it "a miracle".
